The Westport Youth Commission (WYC) is an official town commission that consists of up to 30 members appointed by the first selectwoman, half of whom are adult members (appointed for two-year terms) and student members (appointed for one-year terms) who meet as a team monthly.
We bring together town officials, other adults, and students to provide a forum for addressing the needs of young people in our community. The current WYC functions with two sub-committees, Peer Education & Awareness and Town Improvements, both of which have individual projects under their domain.
Ongoing projects of the Westport Youth Commission include iMentor Internet Safety, Dodge-A-Cop, Corn-A-Cop, Mini-Golf, Teen Job Bank, and more.
Our past projects include Toquet Hall Teen Center, Compo SkatePark, Teenflix, SPEEDiAL (Teen Yellow Pages), and more!
